Odion Ighalo scored Manchester United’s first goal in our 2-1 FA Cup victory over Norwich City on Saturday.

Ighalo’s goal against Norwich means the striker has equalled a club record that has stood for 95 years.

In netting against the Canaries, Ighalo became only the second player in the club’s history to have scored in each of his first four competitive starts for the Red Devils.

According to Opta, the only Manchester United player to have scored in his first four competitive starts for the club was Jimmy Hanson, who achieved the feat in 1925 when he scored in consecutive starts against Hull City, Blackpool, Derby County and Aston Villa.

Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was on the brink of equalling Hanson’s record when he scored in three consecutive competitive outings for United but he failed to score in his fourth start for the club against Hull.
