Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has revealed he still holds a grudge against defensive partner Harry Maguire for knocking Sweden out of the 2018 World Cup tournament.
The centre-back said: “I’m still a bit mad at him for that. But I thought he was a great player back then and it’s great to have him on my team.”
England were eventually knocked up by runner-ups Croatia in the semi-final but Maguire was forced to wait another year to seal a move to Old Trafford.
Reflecting on his header against Sweden, Maguire told Inside United: “To score the first goal was brilliant. A lot of big games nowadays are decided by set-play goals and it was a tight game that day.”
