Former Club Brugge manager mocks Manchester United

Former Club Brugge manager Henk Houwaart has fired a veiled barb at the club by saying that we are faded force  and players like Andreas Pereira would struggle to even get into the Club Brugge team.

“It is just a pity that this is not the Manchester United of yesteryear, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Giggs,” Houwaart told HLN.

“Like Pereira… That boy would have to fight to be in the starting line-up of Club Brugge.

“I think it is such a shame that Club [Brugge] did not start with its strongest team at home, because then they would have won 2-0 or 3-0, but now it will be difficult, which does not mean that Club [Brugge] should no longer believe in it. [Philippe] Clement: go for your strongest and most experienced team.”

United would be in confident mood after beating Watford 3-0 in the Premier League at the weekend.
