Pundit Robbie Savage has urged the club to make a move for Spurs striker Harry Kane in the summer if we beat Spurs to Champions League qualification this season.

Savage believes Kane could be tempted to leave Spurs at the end of the season if Spurs fail to secure a Champions League finish.

“If Spurs don’t get Champions League football and don’t win a trophy this season, I’m just putting it out there, if Manchester United thought ‘Do you know what? Let’s have a go for Harry Kane’, is that beyond the realms of a ridiculous statement from me?” he said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“Why would you not go for… it’s Manchester United still, Champions League football, why would you not go for the top players you can go for?

“Because it’s still Manchester United and Champions League football could be so important for that football club and the transfer window.

“Manchester United in the Champions League, why [would they not go for Kane]?”

The club is currently fifth in the Premier League table, three points behind 4th placed Chelsea. Spurs, in turn, are only one point behind United.
