According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have stepped up interest in Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish as the club hope to seal the deal early enough.
The club is aware of the midfielder’s likely participation at Euro 2020 which could soar his transfer value, and therefore want to sign him before the tournament.
The Englishman reportedly has a £45m release clause at Villa Park, but the club has never confirmed it publicly.
However, the club is willing to spend up to £70m to bring the Villa ace to Old Trafford.
Grealish is tied with the Villans until 2023 who are expected to let him leave for the right price at the end of the season. He’s scored nine and set up eight goals in 29 appearances this season.
