Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that midfielder Scott McTominay could make his return back from injury in Sunday’s game against Watford at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been sidelined with a knee problem since our 4-1 victory over Newcastle on Boxing Day. McTominay made 17 appearances and scored three goals for the club before his injury absence.
The Norwegian said: “I think he might be in the squad [for Watford]. He had a rest day today, so let’s see how he is tomorrow. I’m not surprised because that’s the type he is.
“He’s a physical specimen. He’s a leader, he never shirks a tackle and he brings everyone with him. He can sit with Nemanja [Matic] or Fred, or he can be one of the runners in midfield.
“We’re talking about that today, that we don’t have that many runs past the striker. He used to be a striker before, so he’s used to being in the box.”
