It was a lethargic first-half performance from United and Brugge started the brighter of the two sides and scored just 15 minutes into the game. However, Anthony Martial came to the rescue in the 36th minute.

Mata has admitted his displeasure at the first-half performance of the team.

Speaking to MUTV after the game, the Spaniard said:

“They started well, they play good with the ball and defend compact.

“We shouldn’t have concede but we scored from their mistake. Second half we played much better than the first. We had some chances.”
