Manchester United fullback Luke Shaw is adamant that he is relishing his direct competition with youngster Brandon Williams for the left-back position.
Shaw told the Mirror: “I relish the challenge from him 100 per cent.
“In the past people have come in at left-back who have maybe been switched from other positions [Antonio Valencia].
“Since I’ve been here that hasn’t really been that much competition. Now there is and that’s good for me, not just the club.
“We’re here to take this club back to where it belongs – winning trophies and challenging for titles. And I honestly believe we’re on the way towards doing so.”
The youngster has been phenomenal since making his senior debut, and established himself as an important player earlier this season while Shaw was out with an injury.
Solskjaer is yet to settle on his preferred left-back, with both players have received sufficient playing time.
