According to reports, Manchester United failed in efforts to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso on loan in the January transfer window.
The player was plagued with a serious knee injury and was absent for the vast majority of the 2018/19 campaign and the Frenchman has struggled for regular game-time under new head coach Hans-Dieter Flick this term.
The Frenchman has grown increasingly frustrated with his lack of game time at the German champions, and reports have it that they would consider cashing in on him once they get a replacement.
German publication Kicker claims Bayern were left with no choice but to turn down the club’s loan offer due to a lack of depth in Flick’s squad, leaving the German seriously short of options in midfield.
Tolisso is tied to Bayern until 2022 after putting pen to paper on a five-year contract when he joined the club in 2017.
