Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he is not yet sure of the extent of Scott McTominay’s injury after he was forced off during his side’s 3-1 win over Brighton on Sunday afternoon.
The Scottish international went down in agony in injury time after falling awkwardly, and had to be stretchered off the field.
McTominay has been an ever-present in the United side this season, starting every Premier League game so far, and Solskjaer said it will be clearer after a scan on Monday how long the player may be out for.
“He went over on his ankle and it looked like a painful one,” Solskjaer said.
“He’s in for a scan tomorrow so it could be a couple of weeks out but we hope not. He wasn’t rolling around so hopefully it won’t be too serious.”
The victory over Brighton was United’s fifth in their last six games, and fourth in the league.
