After suffering our fourth Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth, former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel suspects that some players simply do not care whether the Red Devils succeed or not.

Speaking to Premier League Productions after the game, the iconic goalkeeper said:

“What really gets to me is the work rate – the work rate is just not good enough.

“You play for Man United, you have to work hard for 90 minutes or however long the game is and there are certain players in there who come off the pitch [and] there’s no sweat on them.

“They look like they don’t care if those lose the ball or lose a tackle and don’t get the ball. For me that’s not good enough.”

It’s been a disappointing start to the season and the battle to finish in the top four is already looking bleak.”

Manchester United are 10th in the league and find themselves ten points behind 4th placed Chelsea.
