Manchester United midfielder Fred was slammed for his performance in the goalless draw against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League clash last week.
The Brazilian was given opportunity to impress, but he kept giving the ball away and had a poor game. Pundits and a number of Manchester United legends slammed Fred for his poor performance in that game.
And now, Fred has again been slammed for his poor performance in Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, ex-Arsenal defender Martin Keown slammed Fred’s laughable display in central midfield and admitted he ‘felt sorry’ for Marcus Rashford who was left isolated upfront and without service from the midfield.
Keown said: “Daniel James must be thinking ‘who have I signed for here?’
“He’s their youngest player, but he’s their best player.
“They’re so inept in possession. Fred, it’s almost becoming a joke when he gets the ball. I know it’s good closing down but you’ve got to be able to control it and pass.
“If that’s the central midfield then there’s not going to be anything created.”
