Manchester United and Tottenham have both been linked with a potential move for Leicester City midfielder James Maddison, who has taken the Premier League by storm following his arrival at the King Power Stadium a year ago.
According to reports, Manchester United have made James Maddison a priority target for 2020.
Maddison has admitted he is dreaming of playing at the highest level possible amid speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.
“I want to play at the highest level my ability will allow me to,” Maddison said, according to Manchester Evening News.
“I like to think I’ve my head screwed on with the transfers I’ve made. I’ve played League One, in Scotland, the Championship and the Premier League. I worked my way up.”
Danny Simpson, who was a teammate of Maddison at Leicester City, has rated the midfielder’s chances of joining Manchester United.
Asked if Maddison would join Manchester United in future, Simpson said: “Yeah.
“He, for me, is world class. I think people are speaking right now but honestly I think for an English player as well, honestly he’s world class and he’s only going to get better and better.
“He’s that good, honestly. Honestly, he’s got it all.
“He’s quick in his mind so I think he doesn’t need to have blistering pace running past people because he’s clever and he thinks before everyone else.
“He gets in them little pockets, gets into the right spaces, he’s kind of got eyes in the back of his head.
“The way he receives the ball and turns and puts defenders on the back foot.”
