McTominay Delighted With Daniel James Debut

New summer signing Daniel James was instrumental in our 4-0 win over Chelsea. The Welsh winger came off the bench to score his debut goal and United’s fourth.

He celebrated the goal by looking up to the sky to be with his late father in that moment. His dad passed away as he was about to complete his United transfer.

Scott McTominay seems to be already friends with James as he wrote on twitter:

“This is my man♥Old man would be proud !!!”

Daniel James came on as a sub to score the fourth goal against Chelsea, and speaking after the game, the  Welsh winger told Sky Sports: “I don’t think you can sum up how it feels, to come on and score on my debut. I’ve dreamt of that. Ole said to be ready to come on. He said to go and enjoy yourself.

“Everything we have been doing in pre-season we have done today – high press and winning the ball back. We were keeping it well, even at 3-0 and 4-0. It sets us up well going in to next week.”
