The Premier League 2019/20 season starts next weekend, and United’s opening game of the season is a home game against Chelsea at Old Trafford on August 11th.
United finished in sixth place last season, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side capitulated towards the end of the season, after having fought their way to fourth place.
Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has now predicted that United will finish in 5th place this new season.
Owen told BetVictor: “United will be desperate to add at least a couple of new big-name signings to their squad between now and the end of the transfer window with Harry Maguire looking more and more likely to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United revolution by Thursday week.
“Romelu Lukaku is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, but the club will want to sign another striker if – as seems increasingly likely – the Belgian international gets his move to Italy.
“A season of consolidation at Old Trafford.”
Owen has predicted that Manchester City will finish the season as champions, with Liverpool in second place. Owen predicts Tottenham will end as third and Chelsea 4th, with Arsenal ending up in 6th.
Where do you think Manchester United will finish this season with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set for his first full season as Manchester United boss?
