Recent report from French outlet Le10 have revealed that the club have made enquiries from Barcelona about signing defender, Samuel Umtiti.
The club is desperate to sign a centre-back before the close Premier League transfer window.
So far the club have seen huge bids rejected by Leicester City for top target, Harry Maguire. With Ivorian defender, Eric Bailey also injured and could stay out for up to five months, a new defender is needed urgently at Old Trafford.
The report also says that a deal for Umtiti could prove to be a much cheaper option than Maguire, with Barcelona reportedly open to letting the Frenchman leave for about £46 million.
Le10’s report further reveals that Barca are open to selling the 25-year-old Frenchman and that could be struck pretty soon.
Should Manchester United forget the move for £80m rated Maguire and go for a cheaper option in Umtiti?
