Reports from the Daily Mail have revealed that Newcastle United are interested in taking Manchester United centre-back Axel Tuanzebe on a season long loan.
However, the move will only be sanctioned by the club if Manchester United successfully sign Leicester City defender Harry Maguire before the Premier League transfer deadline.
Tuanzebe is trusted by Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and could play a key role in the upcoming season.
The centre-back is looking forward to becoming an important first-team player at the club next season.
Speaking about his future recently, the 21-year-old said:
“My season [at Aston Villa] last year showed that I am a much better player than a year ago. Having a good coach to support me as a player and a person helped.
“I’m more mature, my decision making is better, my physicality, building myself in the game and being a senior player. I’m ready to play for Manchester United – definitely.”
