Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has begged Manchester United to lower his transfer fee to enable him join Serie A side Inter Milan, according to The Sun.
According to reports, Manchester United are holding out for £80m for the Belgian striker and have already rejected a bid of £54m from Inter Milan.
The 26 year old striker is hoping Manchester United will accept £65m for his transfer to Inter Milan but it isn’t yet known if Manchester United will take a loss on a player the club signed from Everton two years ago for £75m.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given Lukaku until Wednesday to thrash out a deal to join Inter Milan.
If Lukaku fails to meet the deadline, Solskjaer will look to bring him back into his squad as it will be too late for United to sign a replacement with the Premier League transfer window closing a day before the league starts.
Inter Milan’s reluctance to meet United’s asking price for Lukaku has reportedly opened the door for Juventus who are willing to sell Paulo Dybala and buy Lukaku.
Despite Juventus interest, Lukaku’s first choice is to work with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte at Inter and is hoping that a deal can get sorted in time.
