Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri has made an astonishing report that Manchester United have opened fresh talks with Tottenham over the signing of mercurial playmaker Eriksen.
He tweeted: “Manchester United had a new contact with Tottenham for Eriksen.”
The former Ajax midfielder is another player who has expressed his desire to leave Spurs.
And United want Eriksen to join them, but Chairman, Daniel Levy will not let him go cheap.
The Spurs Chief is a hardball negotiator, and will demand £70m for the 27-year-old Danish playmaker.
Meanwhile reports claim that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged Ed Woodward to do all he can to sign Leicester City defender Harry Maguire this summer.
The Red Devils have seen a bid for the 26-year-old rejected by the Foxes who are holding out for a record £80m fee.
The player is keen to move to Old Trafford, but will not try to force through a transfer.
An injury to Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has made the signing of the England International more urgent. With the transfer window shutting down in less than three weeks, Solskjaer has urged the club to sign the player.
