Manchester United seem to be going back and forth on the signing of Bruno Fernandes, as Sporting seem to be playing hard ball over their star midfielder.
According to reports, the club are closing in on the signing of Sporting midfielder and that Manchester United appear to have reached a deal with Sporting with the player to undergo a medical soon.
According to Corriere dello Sport, a €70million (£63m) agreement has been reached with Sporting CP for Fernandes.
Reports of United’s interest in the player in Portugal incensed the club’s hierarchy. The Daily Star reports claim that Fernandes would only be signed if Paul Pogba left for Madrid.
While Fernandes is hoping for a quick resolution to his future, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp doesn’t want United to sign the Sporting midfielder.
After the pre-season game against Sporting, Klopp had this to say about the player:
“If he [signs for Man Utd] then we will face him. He’s obviously a really good player.
“They [United] have already a few really good players, so that will probably make them stronger. It’s not nice, but [Man Utd’s transfer dealings are] not our cup of tea, to be honest.”
