Manchester United will reportedly shit attention to signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly if the club fails to sign Harry Maguire.
Leicester are holding out for a world record fee for Maguire, which is deterring United from pursuing a deal for the England International. The Red devils have seen two bids rejected by the Foxes despite the player being willing to join Manchester United.
Manchester United have identified Senegalese international Koulibaly as an alternative to boost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s defence. The defender is regarded as one of the best in the world but will also cost United huge.
Meanwhile, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has told Manchester United that the Red Devils will need to meet Leicester City’s valuation for Harry Maguire.
“The club is in a great state of health because there’s no pressure to sell any player,” Rodgers said following their pre-season friendly win over Cambridge United on Tuesday evening.
“And if a player does leave Leicester City, the valuation will have to be met.
“We have a top level player, looked at by top level clubs. I respect that because I understand why they would, but there’s been no offer near to our valuation that would even make us have a look.
“How he has handled it has been fantastic. Harry has never wavered.
“If there’s a valuation met that pleases the ownership, then there’s a decision to be made for the player.”
