Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills has fired a shot at Manchester United with regards to reports claiming Manchester United are interested in signing Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale.

The Welshman is unwanted at Real Madrid as recent comments by Coach Zinedine Zidane suggest. Zidane bluntly said the club can’t wait for the winger to leave. Clearly, the player doesn’t feature in his plans at the club.

With this development, speculations have been rife about the player’s possible destinations if he is to leave Madrid, with United cited as one.

But Mills has fired a shot at the Red devils saying Bale will not win another major trophy in his career if he joins United.

Speaking on talkSPORT, the Ex-England international said: “People keep saying he’s got to come back to the Premier League and win something here.

“And then they’re saying he should sign for Manchester United.

“How long is this contract he’s going to sign? Eight years? When are Manchester United going to win the Champions League or Premier League?

“It’s not going to be within the next three years is it.”
