Manchester United United are planning to push their summer pursuit of Newcastle rising star Sean Longstaff with a bid soon.
The Red Devils are looking to offer the Magpies a bid of £30m for the midfielder to test their resolve to keep the player.
Reports earlier had claimed that new Magpies Boss Steve Bruce is not looking to sell the 21-year-old, but the club will sell only if an offer of £50m is received.
United vice-chairman Ed Woodward has stayed in Manchester in order to work on new signings for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before the end of the transfer window.
Speaking about his future last week, Longstaff had this to say:
“I just keep my head down. I am just trying to get fit – that’s all I can focus on.
“I am still a Newcastle United player. I want to get back on the pitch as soon as I can. That is what I am looking forward to doing.”
United have only signed Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer, and the duo are really proving their worth in pre-season, especially Wan-Bissaka who has won over the Manchester United fans.
