Manchester United are now primed to face fierce competition in the race to sign Sporting midfielder, Bruno Fernandes with PSG.
The Red Devils have identified the 24-year old, but Sporting’s valuation is just the stumbling block in finalizing a deal for the Portugal international.
Sporting have requested for £55m for the player which United are not ready to pay. Reports that revealed that French Champions, Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Fernandes, but are also put off by the high transfer fee.
However, the Parisians are ready to slug it out with United for the player.
Meanwhile the Portuguese club are ready for a bidding war in order to get the best deal possible.
Fernandes, 24, is highly sought-after this summer after being involved in 50 goals for Sporting Lisbon last season.
Solskjaer has identified Fernandes as one of two midfielders he wants to sign this summer, but Correio da Manha claim the United boss’ wishes is at odds with the club board.
Reports reveal that the club is only willing to sanction £50m instead of Sporting’s asking price of £70m for the player because he is not a regular in the Champions League. Solskjaer feels the player is capable of contributing to United’s attack next season.
