Manchester United’s first signing of the summer Daniel James has set himself a personal target for the new season. So far, the winger has been very impressive for the Red Devils during the pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East.
The speedy and skillful Welshman can’t wait to get the 2019/20 campaign underway as he aims to become an important player at United.
Speaking in Singapore about his personal target for next season, James said:
“For me it’s to get as many goals and assists as I can.
“I want to contribute to the team because that will ultimately get me in the team. As a team we’ve shown what we want to do. We want to work hard, we want to try and get ball, press up high and get goals from there.”
Meanwhile, James has revealed he is yet to believe he is now a United player. The 21-year-old believes he will feel like a real Red Devil once he plays at Old Trafford.
“I don’t think it will sink in until I walk out at Old Trafford,” James said.
“I’m really enjoying it at the moment, I’m getting to know my teammates still and just enjoying playing.
“It’s been really good [in pre-season], we dominated the game [against Inter], it was a lot tougher than our last two games, but we’ve come out on top.”
