Ashley Young was booed by a number of Manchester United fans during the 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the National Stadium in Singapore on Saturday.
Young was one of 10 substitutions Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made just after the hour mark of United’s 1-0 friendly win over Inter Milan.
Fans booed when the stadium announcer introduced Young as the replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and they continued to boo Young whenever he received the ball.
Solskjaer disagreed with the fans’ reaction to Young and wants Manchester United fans to support every United player.
“I think Ashley is a top professional,” Solskjaer said. “He always gives absolutely everything and his delivery today ended up with a goal.
“We want our fans to support our players and Ash has been a very loyal servant to this club for many years and he will keep on performing when he plays.
“I’ve not spoken to him, they’ve had to do running after the game, but I’ll have a chat with him, yeah.”
