Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed Manchester United centre-back Axel Tuanzebe as the future of Manchester United after the 21 year old impressed in the 1-0 victory over Inter Milan on Saturday.
Tuanzebe spent last season on loan with Championship side Aston Villa and signed a new three-year contract with United ahead of the pre-season tour of Australia and Asia.
Tuanzebe started the pre-season opener against Perth Glory but was left out against Leeds United.
Solskjaer claimed after the win over Inter Milan that Tuanzebe was left out against Leeds United because he knew the 21 year old could play against a tough opponent like Inter Milan.
“He’s got a future at Man United yes, of course he has,” Solskjaer said.
“Today was a test for him playing against different opposition, we know he can play at that level, that’s why he didn’t play against Leeds and now he’s shown today he’s very capable of playing at this level.
“Axel’s gonna be the future of this club.”
