Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte is so certain Romelu Lukaku could be a key player for Inter Milan, but admits they are finding it difficult to sign him from Manchester United.
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio flew to London last week to meet United officials in an attempt to conclude a deal for Lukaku, but the Serie A club are yet to make a suitable offer for the striker. Lukaku is keen to leave United after dropping down the pecking order under Solskjaer.
The Nerazurri Coach is a huge admirer of the big Belgian as he also tried to sign him during his time at Chelsea.
“I think ‘frustrated’ is a big word,” Conte said. “And Lukaku is a United player and this is the reality. You know very well I like this player, but also in the past when I was Chelsea’s coach and tried to bring him into Chelsea.
“But I think today Lukaku is a player of United, it’s the reality and this is the truth.
“I think that in this moment you’re talking about a player of another club and for this reason it’s right to not talk about Lukaku, because he plays for United.
“And, as I said before, for sure I like this player and consider him an important player for us to have a good improvement, but at the same time there is a transfer market and we know very well this is our situation in this moment, we will see what happens.
“Now, for sure Lukaku is United’s player.”
