Juventus won the first leg encounter against Manchester United in the Group H Champions League clash at Old Trafford two weeks ago, and United will be visiting Juventus Stadium on Wednesday for the return leg that could decide how the table ends.
Juve have a little injury crisis ahead of the game and could be without trio Douglas Costa, Blaise Matuidi and Mario Mandzukic who are in a race against time to be fit for the game.
Matuidi picked up a bruise on his right hip in the 3-1 win over Cagliari, while Costa needed physiotherapy treatment on a thigh injury.
Mandzukic is also a doubt for the game after missing the win over Cagliari, but handed his side a boost by taking part in some training on Sunday.
Besides the trio, centre-back Giorgio Chiellini who was outstanding in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford as well as winger Federico Bernardeschi continued their recovery from injury, and should be available for selection on Wednesday.
Ahead of Wednesday’s clash, former Manchester United defender David May thinks Ander Herrera deserves a place in the starting line up to face Juventus after his performance vs Bournemouth during the weekend.
“I think Ander could have played himself into the team there,” May told MUTV.
“I think when you look at Juventus, they just ran the midfield at Old Trafford and we couldn’t get anywhere near them.
“I think we need somebody in there like Herrera.”
