Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has lost his place in the first team this season with Jose Mourinho now preferring the duo of Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof.
United spent £30m on Bailly in Mourinho’s first summer at the club and the Ivorian was impressive in his first season at Old Trafford. Bailly is now expendable at the club after making so many mistakes that have led to goals this season.
Bailly was taken off after 19 minutes against Newcastle, and the Ivorian has since only featured for two minutes.
The 24-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2020 and the club have yet to initiate talks of a new deal.
According to ESPN, Bailly now fears for his future at Old Trafford and is worried that he has lost Mourinho’s faith in him.
Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to add an experienced centre-back to his squad, and rumours claim AC Milan are considering making a big-money move for the Ivorian.
