A late Marcus Rashford goal helped Manchester United beat Bournemouth 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon.

Manchester United started the game slowly to be honest and Bournemouth deserved their early lead through a Callum Wilson goal.

Manchester United drew level ten minutes before half-time as Anthony Martial scored his fifth goal in four games before Rashford scored an injury time winner.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho admits Manchester United were fortunate to be level at half-time as the Red Devils were awful defensively.

“It was the whole first half,” Mourinho said.

“I said at half-time I was the luckiest manager in the Premier League in a half when it should be like 5/6-2.

“We were defensively awful. As a team we didn’t press or do any of the things we did in the week.

“People watching this game will not believe how hard we worked this week.

“The first half was a disaster. The second half was much better.

“We created lots of chances and deserved to score before the 92nd minute.”

The win at the Vitality Stadium ended Bournemouth’s unbeaten run. The Cherries had gone 6 games without defeat in all competitions before they were beaten by Manchester United today.
