Paul Pogba’s penalty technique has been criticized by Manchester United legend Gary Neville after his penalty was saved by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Everton on Sunday.

Pickford palmed the ball back to Pogba who finished into the open left corner.

Neville said: “It’s not right, it doesn’t feel right. It’s not how you would kick a ball in normal play – it goes against everything you’re taught.

“Cristiano Ronaldo used to do it at Old Trafford but it’s not working for Paul Pogba.”

Former Liverpool manager Graeme Souness believes Pogba should keep his penalties simple.

Souness said: said: “I don’t like to see this. I personally think it’s a bit ‘look at me, look at me’. I just don’t get this penalty.”
