Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was charged by the Football Association for using ‘improper language’ in Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle United at Old Trafford on the 6th of October.

Mourinho appeared to swear into a television camera as he left the pitch after the game.

A statement from the FA read: “Jose Mourinho has been charged following Manchester United’s game against Newcastle United on 6 October 2018.

“It is alleged that his language at the end of the fixture, as captured by the broadcast footage, was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper.”

The FA charged Mourinho last week but the Manchester United manager has denied the charge and could face a touchline ban if he’s found guilty.

The charge will now go to a three-person independent regulatory commission who will decide Mourinho’s fate.

If found guilty, Mourinho could receive a touchline ban which would see him miss United’s games against Everton and Bournemouth in the next fortnight
