Manchester United were in a bad spell just a few weeks ago, and the club went on a run of four games without a victory, with reports even claiming that Jose Mourinho could lose his job against Newcastle.
United who were losing 2-0 against Newcastle then produced a massive comeback against the Magpies, scoring three goals in the last 20 minutes to turn the game around.
Against Chelsea on Sunday, United also came back from a goal down and were leading the game 2-1, but unfortunately the game ended 2-2 with a very late goal from Ross Barkley.
Speaking after that game, Jose said: “We were the best team on the pitch. If you say before the game that one point at Stamford Bridge is a good result, it is so difficult to win here but after the game with the way the game was it is an awful result for us and a phenomenal result for them.
“We were in the game, we controlled their triggers, (Eden) Hazard and Jorginho was well controlled.
“After we were 2-1 up we had positions to score the third goal, we were the best team, we were calm in control.
“I hope every referee does the same as Mike Dean and gives six minutes, I don’t know where they came from. We always tried to play, there was no time wasting.
“We defend corners mixed, some zonal, some man to man. Every player knows with closed eyes which player is his player, which space is his sapce. I am pleased with everything apart from the result which is awful for us.”
And now, ahead of the Champions League clash against Juventus on Tuesday, Mourinho has revealed that his team are now back in form following recent displays.
“United’s form was shown in the past two matches,” said Mourinho. “The way we want to play, the way we can play was shown in the past two matches. So let’s try to do it again.”
