Manchester United will host Juventus in a vital Champions League clash at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening, and Jose Mourinho has given an injury update ahead of that game.
A number of key players were absent in the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as Jesse Lingard, Antonio Valencia and Marouane Fellaini sat out the game.
Alexis Sanchez came on in the second half against Chelsea, and Jose has revealed that all the players that were unavailable for the game against Chelsea will also be unavailable for Tuesday’s Champions League clash.
“The players you saw are the players that are available,” he said at his press conference at Old Traford. “[We have] Nothing to hide and Alexis is out.”
Skipper Antonio Valencia has been unavailable in recent games, and while the media try to claim there has been a bust up between Valencia and Mourinho, the Manchester United boss has revealed that Valencia has been out due to injury problems and will also miss the game against Juve.
“The reason is he was 10 days without training with a problem,” Jose added. “Not an injury but a problem that he had very complicated surgery on his mouth.
”And 10 days without training meant he needed a little bit of time to recover some level after that.”
