Real Madrid are struggling this season under new manager Julen Lopetegui, and after nine games in the league so far, Los Blancos are lying in an unfamiliar seventh position.
Real have already lost three games in the league, and their form has been a cause for concern.
Lopetegui’s job as Real Madrid boss is reportedly under threat, and rumours are linking Jose Mourinho with the job.
Mourinho who enjoyed three successful years with Madrid has turned down the opportunity to join the Spanish side, insisting he’s happy at Old Trafford.
“No I am happy here,” said Mourinho, in a press conference before United’s clash with Juventus.
“I’m happy to see out my contract and I would like to stay after my contract. All I think about is Manchester United.”
Lopetegui is under pressure following Real’s run of four defeats in five games, but has vowed not to give up.
“Results haven’t been great but we are going to turn this around,” he said.
Real face Czech side Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League on Tuesday before the weekend’s El Clasico.
“What I’ve learned about this club is to fight, that is the DNA of this club,” Lopetegui said.
“That’s what we’re going to do, fight, both the players and the coaching staff.”
