Anthony Martial scored a brace in Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Martial’s agent claimed the striker wanted leave the club in June in search of regular first-team football.
The relationship between the pair appeared to sour after Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho criticized Martial for leaving United’s tour of America to be at the birth of his child.
Following United’s draw at Stamford Bridge, Martial dismissed any talk of a strained relationship with Mourinho.
“Come on – things were not tense between us to begin with,” Martial told reporters after the 2-2 with Chelsea on Saturday.
“We have a player-coach relationship and I hope that we will continue like that and bring Manchester United as much as possible.”
The 22-year-old striker hopes Manchester United can take our improved displays into the Champions League clash with Juventus in midweek.
“We were not doing well,” Martial added. “However, we worked hard and this sort of match enabled us to show that we are a good team.
“We want to continue with another good game against Juventus on Tuesday.
“[The goals] have done me the world of good. However, ultimately, I am disappointed. We deserved to win but we shipped the goal in the last minute and it cost us.”
