Anthony Martial scored a brace for Manchester United as United played out a 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Martial made life difficult for Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta, and he was unlucky to see that his brace wasn’t enough to give his side the victory as Ross Barkley’s 96th minute goal shared the spoils between both sides.
Speaking after the game, Mourinho hailed Martial’s performance, and admitted that the 22-year-old is improving.
He said: “Anthony Martial is improving, he is doing different things than before. He is a more complete player than before but he needs to improve.
“He has a huge talent and he wants it, which is a good thing. The team as a team was really good.”
There were reports that Martial was keen on leaving the club during the summer after falling out with the manager, but Mourinho insisted on keeping him, and now, reports claim he’s close to signing a five-year contract with Manchester United.
Martial has now scored three times in his last two matches and he’s proving himself in the team and is currently ahead of Alexis Sanchez.
