Manchester United have been fined £13,200 by UEFA following the late arrival to our Champions League clash with Valencia.

UEFA fined Manchester United £4,400 for late arrival and £8,800 for the delayed kick-off.

The Red Devils turned up late for the Champions League clash with Valencia at Old Trafford despite travelling just three miles from their team hotel.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho also received warning from UEFA for the late kick-off in the Champions League clash.

Following the goalless draw with Valencia, Mourinho blamed Greater Manchester Police for the delay, saying that they failed to provide the team coach with a police escort.

“We left the hotel at six o’clock hoping that 30 minutes would be enough, which it normally is, but this time the police refused to do an escort so we had to come by ourselves,” Mourinho said.

The police later denied these claims.
