Manchester United face the prospect of losing 11 first-team players at the end of the season.
Check them out below:
1. DAVID DE GEA
David De Gea is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he is a goalkeeper that can singlehandedly win you games. De Gea will be out of contract at the end of the season but Manchester United have the option of extending his contract for another year.
De Gea is reportedly willing to extend his Manchester United contract but he wants assurances that the club can match his ambitions.
2. MATTEO DARMIAN
The Italian full-back was expected to leave Manchester United during the summer after interest from several Italian clubs but the club was reluctant to let him leave. The 28-year-old has struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho and that has seen him lose his place in the Italian national team.
United also have the option of extending his contract by another year but Darmian is widely expected to push for a move in January.
3. CHRIS SMALLING
Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling will be out of contract next summer. Among all the central defenders at the club, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho seems to trust Smalling more. It’s expected Smalling will partner any defender Mourinho signs in January so United could start contract negotiations with him soon.
4. PHIL JONES
When Sir Alex Ferguson signed Phil Jones from Blackburn in 2011, he was hyped to be the next Duncan Edwards but Jones has failed to live up to the hype. With his contract running out at the end of the season, Jones might have to leave Old Trafford in search of regular football.
5. LUKE SHAW
The left-back has been impressive this season after struggling for form following a horrific leg break in 2015. His contract runs out at the end of the season.
6. ANTONIO VALENCIA
Antonio Valencia has lost his place in the team after liking a social media post which suggested Mourinho should be sacked. Valencia’s contract expires at the end of the season and he will be able to discuss terms with rival teams if United do not exercise a one-year extension before March 1.
7. ANDER HERRERA
Ander Herrera was a key player in Jose Mourinho’s first season as Manchester United boss but the Spanish midfielder has failed to play regularly in recent seasons. Herrera will be out of contract at the end of the season but is keen on prolonging his stay at the Red Devils.
8. ANDREAS PEREIRA
The 22-year-old returned to Old Trafford after a successful loan spell at Valencia. His contract expires at the end of the season but Manchester United have the option of extending his contract by another year. Pereira is highly rated at Old Trafford but he will need assurances he will play more before signing a new contract.
9. JUAN MATA
Juan Mata is a player loved by fans at Old Trafford but he is more of a squad player these days at Manchester United. His contract will expire at the end of the season and judging by his free-kick against Newcastle United, he will have plenty of clubs willing to sign him for free.
10. ASHLEY YOUNG
Ashley Young impressed as left-back last season for Manchester United, earning him a place in England’s World Cup squad. He has recently lost his left-back place to Luke Shaw but his versatility makes him a favourite of Mourinho. His United contract runs out at the end of the season.
11. ANTHONY MARTIAL
Anthony Martial’s Manchester United contract expires at the end of the season but Manchester United have the option of extending it until the summer of 2020. Despite failing to play regularly under Mourinho, Martial is a player loved by the fans.
