Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard signed a new four-year deal with the club in 2017, raising his pay to around £100,000-a-week at Old Trafford.
Lingard has since proven to be an important player for Manchester United and had a good campaign last season.
Last season was Lingard’s best season for United having scored 13 times in 48 appearances, and according to reports from Metro, United are ready to hand him a new contract.
According to the report from Metro, United will review Lingard’s contract later this year with a view to the midfielder signing new terms with the club on a boosted salary in 2019.
A number of Manchester United players have their contracts winding up, with the likes of Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Luke Shaw to enter the final 12 months of their deals at Old Trafford.
For Luke Shaw, he is having a wonderful start to the season and has won the United Player of the Month for two consecutive months.
After enduring a tough love with Jose Mourinho for two seasons, Shaw is now beginning to impress not only the United manager but England boss Gareth Southgate.
Speaking about his award, Shaw told United Review: “We’re professionals and I won’t be getting too carried away. I’ll just keep doing my job, keep working hard, keep doing what the manager and coaching staff say.
“I still want to improve and I still feel like I can improve massively, so that’s what I want to do, improve as a player and a person off the pitch as well and help the team out as much as possible.”
