Inter defender Milan Skriniar

During the summer, one area Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho insisted he needed to strengthen was his central defence position.

United’s defence has been terrible this season, and the defence which was rock-tight last season has already conceded 14 goals in the league this season.

Mourinho is keen on getting a new defender in the January transfer market, and Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has been reportedly linked with a move to Old Trafford during the winter transfer period.

Mourinho was unable to get any of his defensive targets during the summer, and he missed out on Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire, Duego Godin and Jerome Boateng.

Skriniar is now thte that’s been linked to the club, and when asked about the rumours, Skriniar told Sport.sk: “Yes, but I don’t know if it’s true.

“Personally, I don’t know, as the transfer window has just shit, so it’s hard for me to say anything.

“There was some noise in the summer, but nothing happened, so I’m not letting it bother me.

Skriniar is said to be valued at around £60m, and it’s unclear if Inter will be willing to sell their defender midway through the season.
