Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba’s situation at the Camp Nou, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish media outlet Sport claim the 29-year-old left-back is growing impatient about Barcelona’s reluctance to renew his contract which is set to expire at the end of next season.

Alba has been an important player for Barcelona since joining from Valencia in 2012 and Barca’s delay in offering him a contract has surprised many.

The 29-year-old has won the UEFA Champions League, four La Liga titles and a quartet of Copa del Rey trophies. Alba also won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2015.

Signing Alba would definitely improve our squad and we would be signing a top left-back.
