Jose Mourinho is a serial winner and he’s won trophies at every club he has managed. The Portuguese has also won the league title in every club he has managed apart from Manchester United.

Although he has won the Europa League and League Cup with United, fans are hopeful to win the league again – a feat that was last achieved during the time of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Mourinho is in his third season as the manager of Manchester United, and United legend has advised the manager to change his philosophy. Mourinho is under pressure from bad results having lost three league games already this season.

Paul Ince wants Mourinho to employ a more attacking style of football and believes times have changed from when he used his defensive style to win titles.

In the goalless draw against Valencia last week, fans at Old Trafford were heard chanting ‘attack, attack, attack’, and some even jeered at the final whistle of the game.

Ince has urged Mourinho to change his style to an attacking strategy, stressing that fans at Old Trafford want to watch beautiful football.

“What he has to understand is the game’s evolved,” he said. “It’s not about when he was at Inter Milan going in the Champions League and having to park the bus and go defensively. ‘The philosophy and teams that he’s had have been completely different to Manchester United.

“Manchester United has a tradition of playing attacking football. Fans want to see entertaining football.

“I’d like him to stay but he has to start changing from his methods that he used years back to understand that the game’s gone forward.

“Don’t be a dinosaur and start attacking teams like we have done over the years.”
