Manchester City might currently be top of the Premier League table so far and Tottenham are also high up the table, but United boss Jose Mourinho has told the club fans that they are doing better than two of their rivals.

Manchester United are doing better than the two clubs in the Champions League this season, and Mourinho didn’t fail to point that out to the fans.

Mourinho said in his matchday programme notes ahead of the game against Newcastle at Old Trafford: “After today’s game we have two weeks, then we go straight into games against Chelsea, in the Premier League, and Juventus, in the Champions League, with two recovery days in between.

“For the moment, we have the most points of any English team in the Champions League, and it is a big responsibility for us to maintain that in our next group match against the super team, Juventus.

“With such huge games coming up later in the month, it would obviously be good for our confidence to end this current run of fixtures with an important victory this afternoon at home.

“Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy the game.”

United got the victory against Newcastle, but it wasn’t an easy game as United had to come back from two goals down.

United were under pressure to get a victory in the game, but things went awry after 10 minutes as Kenedy and Yoshinori Muto scored twice to put the Magpies ahead. However, United produced a stunning last 20 minutes performance to score three goals with Juan Mata scoring a sweet free-kick, Anthony Martial banging in a nice shot and Alexis Sanchez completing the victory with a header.
