Ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Newcastle on Saturday, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has revealed United will be without Jesse Lingard, Marcos Rojo and Ander Herrera.

Mourinho is optimistic Ashley Young will be available after the 33-year-old missed United’s goalless draw with Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday with a minor injury.

The trio of Lingard, Rojo and Herrera are sidelined through injury.

Asked whether the trio could return against Newcastle, Mourinho said on Friday morning: “No, it’s exactly the same [squad].

“No new injuries and the players who were injured [are still out] with the possibility of Ashley Young coming back… but his problem was really minor.”

Newcastle have had all week to train for the game while Manchester United played against Valencia on Tuesday but Mourinho insists he has had enough time to prepare his squad for the Premier League clash.

“[We have had] recovering time for the players that played against Valencia and good work for the others that obviously were in perfect condition to train,” Mourinho added.

“Today [Friday], the third day [since the Valencia game] is the first day we have all of the players together and three days in between matches is more than enough time to have the players ready for the weekend match.”
