Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez was left out of the matchday squad at West Ham on Saturday.
The 29-year-old travelled with the team to London for the game against West Ham but Jose Mourinho opted against including him in the matchday squad.
Mourinho revealed after the game that he took the decision not to name Sanchez in the teamsheet because of the forward’s poor performances for Manchester United.
Sanchez sat behind the dugout during the 3-1 loss at West Ham and he was seen sulking throughout the game on Saturday afternoon.
A report on Daily Mail claims the Chilean international was upset by the decision to leave him out of the squad and he is said to be regretting his move to Manchester United last January.
Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw told reporters after the 3-1 defeat to West Ham that the performance of United was horrendous.
“Obviously at half-time there were a few words and I think it was needed,” Luke Shaw said
“It was a wake-up and words that have been said before — we need to be moving, we need to concentrate more, we need to want the ball, we need to be playing.
“If you want the truth I think, honestly, it was horrendous.
“We didn’t look like a team that were going to beat West Ham. I think individually and as a team we were awful.”
